Ratan Chaudhuri, Ph.D.

The research for Symbionyx products was started in 2015 by Dr. Chaudhuri, a prolific innovator and industry veteran with over 30 years of experience. Prior to starting Symbionyx, he founded Sytheon in 2006, an innovative global specialty ingredient company recently growing over 50% annually (www.sytheonltd.com). Sytheon is headquartered in the US with a branch office in France and soon to be expanded to have another branch office in Singapore. Ratan has held technical management positions at EMD Chemicals (Merck KGaA) and ISP in the USA and holds over100 US & International patents, has over 80 publications & six-chapter articles. He was most recently featured in CIO Views as a top 10 business leader to follow in 2021

Sohini Ganguli, Pharm.D.

Sohini has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She has held various management roles in both the medical and commercial arms at Sanofi. Her primary area of research has been in the immunology therapeutic area with a focus in dermatology.  She has published numerous research papers during her tenure in the pharmaceutical industry. She brings her unique experience to Symbionyx as a key member of the leadership team.

Krys Bojanowski, Ph.D.

Krys led the effort to generate preclinical bioactivity data for IDMF and is the co-inventor. Before joining Symbionyx, he founded an R&D biotech laboratory Sunny BioDiscovery, Inc. in 2000, following a professional carrier at an INSERM lab (France), National Cancer Center (Japan), Harvard University and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Recipient of multiple research grants and awards, Krys currently serves as Grant Application Ad Hoc reviewer at National Institute of Health, USA. Krys has 36 peer-reviewed publications, 2 book chapters and 6 issued patents.

Geoffrey Ossias

Geoffrey, a partner in Goodwin’s Technology & Life Sciences group, represents fast-growing companies in a broad range of technology-driven sectors, including healthcare, e-commerce, renewable energy and financial services. He routinely assists his clients in a wide variety of strategic transactions, including debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, exclusive license arrangements, restructurings and the resolution of complex corporate governance matters. He also represents venture capital and private equity funds in connection with their investments in growth-stage companies.

Before beginning his corporate practice, Geoff was Senior Counsel with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance in Washington, DC.  Earlier in his career, after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, co-founded MyPoints.com, a publicly traded email marketing company acquired by United Airlines.

Tom is Business Controller for Sytheon since 2010 & Chief Financial Officer for Symbionyx since its inception. Previously, he was the Director of Finance at Taconic Biosciences, NY & the Business Controller at EMD Chemicals (Merck KGaA), NY. Tom has over 30 yrs. experience in the areas of international financial reporting, auditing compliance, budgeting and quality assurance.

William R. Swindell, D.O. Ph.D.

Dr. Swindell’s multidisciplinary background has provided him with a unique skill set and extensive experience working with diverse teams that include laboratory and clinical scientists, physicians, and computational scientists. His current research interests include the genetics of psoriasis, bioinformatics, health data analytics, and translational biomedical research. Bill is an Internal Medicine resident physician at the Mercy-Health Jewish Hospital (Cincinnati, OH) and has over 85 peer-reviewed publications.

Raja Sivamani, MD

Dr. Sivamani is a board-certified dermatologist. He has a graduate bioengineering degree from UC Berkeley and his medical training at UC Davis. He practices medical and surgical dermatology at Pacific Skin Institute and his integrative research and aesthetics clinic at Zen Dermatology. He is the Director of Clinical Research at UC-Davis and he is the Co-Director of the Microbiome Research Initiative at the California State University, Sacramento. He leads clinical studies on pharmaceuticals, botanicals, nutrition, the microbiome, and the gut-skin axis. Dr. Sivamani has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial team for LearnSkin.com and is a chair for the annual Integrative Dermatology Symposium.

Mr. Marchio is currently Chief Operating Officer of Sytheon & General Manager of Sytheon SARL and has over 30 yrs. of industrial experience. Prior to joining Sytheon, he was Senior VP, EMD Chemicals (Merck kGaA) responsible for managing specialty ingredient division & has held different management positions at Merck KGaA in the USA, France & Germany. He has 11 patents and is co-founder of Sytheon, and Nubiance SAS, a skin care consumer product company.

Manpreet Randhawa, Ph.D.

Dr. Randhawa leads the development of active ingredients backed by science and clinical validation. She has over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry. She brings expertise in scientifically driven health care solutions including skincare, haircare and sun care categories. She understands the  complexities of cellular, molecular, and physiological levels, when it comes to skin health. She has the passion to innovate and create products that connect with consumers and deliver meaningful results. With an educational background in cellular biology and clinical evaluation, her career is dedicated to providing scientifically sound solutions for skin health. Prior to joining Sytheon in 2019, she spent 10 years at J&J understanding the mechanism behind skin aging, pigmentation, and developing respective solutions. She has numerous peer reviewed publications.
